About Us

Trulove Montessori is open Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our school year follows the AISD schedule, and we offer a summer camp as well. We understand the need for flexible schedules, so Trulove offers both full-time and part-time schedules.

The mission of Trulove Montessori is to provide a nurturing environment for children to learn, grow and develop while adhering to the principles of Montessori.

Founded in 2009, Trulove Montessori is centrally located in Austin, Texas. Our director and lead guide, Deesha, is a third-generation AMI Montessori guide. Our small, intimate school allows not only close student-teacher relationships, but also close relationships with families. In addition to one lead guide, Trulove is staffed with two assistant guides as well as an after-school teacher.

Our mornings begin outside. Upon arrival the children are greeted in the play yard, where we engage in free play, group activities and gardening. Shortly afterward, we go inside to the school house, where our Montessori work cycle starts. During this time the children may work alone, in small groups or pairs. They will work with the guide as well. Some examples of "work" in the Montessori classroom: cutting fruit, folding laundry, building the pink tower, working with the sandpaper letters or building great mathematical equations using the decimal beads.

The classroom is an extension of a home and functions in a similar manner. When children start at Trulove, we introduce them to the area of Practical Life, during which they learn to put away their belongings, as well as order and sequence. Practical Life also sets the foundation for all the other materials in the classroom. At Trulove, children help themselves to snack when they are hungry instead of having to wait for a set time, or fetch a mop when water spills and clean it up on their own.

To close our mornings, the children and staff meet for a gathering. Stories, meditation and yoga are all done during our morning gathering. After gathering the children have lunch and a rest time.

Enrichment Activities:

On Monday Mornings, Trulove Montessori offers music class from 9:00-9:45 a.m. with Anderson Mills. Anderson incorporates music with movement, for a fun-filled 45 minutes.

Every Thursday morning Spanish class is offered to the children from 9:00-9:30 a.m., with Mariposa Spanish School for kids. The children build on their Spanish vocabulary through stories, songs, games, and more. To find out more about Spanish class please visit www.mariposasspanish.com.

Friday morning Trulove Montessori offers soccer classes through the Texas Super Soccer Stars from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Texas Super Soccer Stars' low teacher-to-student ratios, positive reinforcement and method letting children progress at their own rate fits perfectly with the TM philosophy. We look forward to working with you and your child!
